Most of you have likely heard through the grapevine (a very healthy vine in Texarkana!) that Westridge has changed ownership recently. Indeed we have heard almost every rumor you can imagine over the last 6 months. The most prevalent rumors have now turned into questions in the exam room so we believe it is time to address these head on.
Yes, as of June 1 of this year, Westridge Animal Hospital joined National Veterinary Associates as it's 565th veterinary clinic in North America. NVA is a rapidly growing associate group of clinics that began over 20 years ago in Arizona. We have had a relationship with NVA for nearly 6 years as we have continually explored the possibility of becoming a part of their family of practices. This past spring, after much discussion and prayer, we decided it was time.
"I will assure you that there will be no changes in how we practice. We are still the same down to earth folks that want to treat you and your pets as our family. I, personally, look forward to the freedom this allows me to enjoy the practice of medicine. After all, that’s why I do this. I am looking forward to many more years with you, my family."
What does that mean for you? Well first off, none of our doctors have any intention of retiring anytime soon. In fact, we are all in what is considered the most productive years of our practice lives. The next thing everyone wants to know is will there be any changes in the way we practice medicine. To that we wish to answer with an emphatic NO!!!! The most critical part of our decision making process was a clear understanding that nobody..........and we mean NOBODY........will tell us how to practice veterinary medicine nor what to charge when we do so!
"This is an exciting time for the Westridge Animal Hospital family. Our partnership with NVA is definitely a win-win for all, especially our beloved furry members of the family. I look forward to celebrating the special bond we have with our patients and their owners this 30th anniversary year and being able to be a part of the Westridge family for many years to come."
Westridge is still Westridge, there won't even be a name change. What we hope you will notice over the coming months and years is an increased quality of practice that we will get to enjoy because we get to focus on veterinary medicine and not on business management. With the overload of information available to practitioners now and the incredible advancement of technology, veterinarians have to be in the business of constantly adding to our armament on both fronts. NVA gives us countless ways to do just that and in a much more economical way for our clients.
Dr. Murray, Dr. Burns, and Dr. Morgan will share some of their knowledge on subjects that most pet owners have questions about!
